Ohio Advanced Manicure Practice Exam

The requirement for licensees when performing a service not specified in the rules is to obtain a certificate of training. This certificate demonstrates that the licensee has completed the necessary education and training specific to that service, ensuring they possess the skills and knowledge to perform it safely and effectively.

This focus on proper training helps maintain high standards of safety and professionalism within the industry. It is particularly important in fields like cosmetology, where the potential for harm can arise from improper techniques or use of products. By requiring a certificate of training, regulatory bodies can ensure that practitioners are well-prepared and educated before offering new or advanced services.

Other options, such as needing a special permit or a new license application, do not align with the established protocol for adding services. Written approvals from the board may pertain to specific regulatory processes but are not a general requirement for performing newly learned services. Therefore, the emphasis on a certificate of training underscores the commitment to competency in additional specialty services.
